You Are What You Ate Ate

Happy New Year!………just a tad late, but i’ve been busy……..you know how it is………time just slips away, and suddenly it’s Valentine’s Day and soon it will be April Fool’s Day………i’ll know Spring is just around the corner when i see the first spider in the bathroom, those pesty little buggers, just waiting in the shadows, lurking behind the spare toothpaste………why, it’s enough to turn one into a carnivore!……..i’ll bet those wolf spiders are quite tasty stir fried up with a few peppers and onions………Bon Apetitte!

Since I still have this venue open to me…………I’ll just pen, type, say, a few choice words.

If one ever had a passing thought that politics is a big joke, a farce, a zoo, an exercise in futility. a waste of precious time and resources, one need look no further than John McCain’s choice of a running mate………Just think, we could have had Hillary, a REAL WOMAN. …….Hope I don’t have to pack my bags and move to Mexico.

Flies………..I meant as the crow flies……Crows don’t lie.

B. O…………Barack Obama………Initials B. O………..Am I the only one who’s noticed this??? I’ve not seen this Very Important Issue addressed in the national media, or maybe I just missed it. Yes, it is possible that we are going to have a president with the offensive initials B. O.!!!………Look, my sympathy goes out to the guy……I myself, suffered through childhood with the equally offensive initials P. P……You can imagine the hoots and jokes, but unlike Barack, I changed my name at the first opportunity. Who wants to carve a love sonnet into a tree………J.M. loves P.P.????……..B.O. lovesR.M.????……..Now, I still intend to vote for Barack Obama in November…….and I’m only bringing this up to see if ANYONE else has noticed………I actually voted for Hillary Clinton in the primary, but I live in Florida, so my vote doesn’t EVER count. We could have had……….H.C……Hillary Clinton……..Health Care…….Has anyone noticed this?

Barack Obama has big ears. An undisputed fact, right? If he would just let his hair grow out around those ears a wee bit, he’d be even more handsome than he is now. But, I suppose he has more important things to occupy his mind, bigger fish to fry. Still, he needs all the help he can get to win this election……..the last poll I saw had he and McCain neck and neck……..stil, we are far from the home stretch and…………..

Oh, wait, I was going to lighten up here, not get mired down in the negative, the dark side, the what might have been…….yes, my intent here (you may notice I haven’t posted on this blog in eons), my intent is whatever pops into my head, kind of a stream of consciousnes thing, but with a filter…….only the fun, goofy, inane, or utterly meaningless drivel allowed now, enough of the horrific commentary on WHAT’S WRONG WITH EVERYBODY EXCEPT ME?………After all, Paula Poundstone and Dave Barry didn’t get where they are by reminding folks that life, on any given day, is a roll of the dice…………That if you live in Haiti, you may only have mud pies for dinner tonight and be grateful for even that bit of sustenence, that if you live in Iraq, or if you’ve been shipped out to Afghanistan you may not survive the day intact………That you may not be able to heat your home this winter since you’ve lost your job, and just may lose that home, too…….

Already, already, I have slid down the slippery slope towards the River Styx……….

Ok, I just took my week’s worth of garbage to the county dump. They don’t accept glass for recycling, weirdly enough. I am saving my glass bottles now for a Great Idea. I’ll share this with you in another entry titled, “How To Make A Patio Out Of Wine and Beer Bottles”……….well, it’s quite simple, all you do is turn the bottles upside down and bury them at the same level close together……..this forms a nice-looking patio and eventually you could get rid of all your grass, an ecologically friendly cost effective move in the right direction. Make that the left direction. I’ll let you know when I start my patio. Maybe when it gets a mite cooler here in sunny Florida.

Next Up: My Night In The Shining Armoire

Perusing some news on the net recently, I came across an article the gist of which was that the networks concentrate (see bombard) the American public (see sheeple) with the infinite details of sensational grisly murders………because the vast majority of the public is tired of hearing about the war in Iraq…….cannot relate to it, has no one fighting this war and has not lost anyone in this war…….The public can relate easier (and wants to hear about, meet the family, see the pictures) to a murder of a young woman than to the war(occupation), where young men and some women are murdering each other in the name of war, in the name of freedom, of democracy, and coming home in body bags, without legs, without the mental capacity they had when they left……this war being fought with the public’s tax dollars, indeed the dollars of future generations……..So, is this correct?….Would the average Ms. or Mr. Public rather follow true crime or war coverage?……..How much time do the Public’s spend thinking about the war in Iraq?…………Personally, I spend what I consider a lot of time thinking about, reading about, trying to do things that may help bring about the end of this war, and prevent another one (Iran)…….

Yeah. I wrote about 4 months ago. Nothing much has changed. Except attacking Iran seems more likely. And the ice is melting faster than we thought. And food is becoming scarce and expensive for too many poor souls. Things look dire………….For my own mental sanity, and thanks to an accident of birth, or whatever you choose to believe,,,,,,,,I have the luxury of saying……..I’ll pull back, write something lighter and humorous……….this…….
